How Often Should You Get a Fade Touched Up?

Don’t just go by the calendar. Tami’s rule of thumb is simple: come back in when your hair starts touching your ears, or when it just starts looking shaggy. That’s the point where the fade line has softened and the cut’s lost the crispness it had on day one.

Why the range is 2-4 weeks, not a fixed number

Everyone’s hair grows differently, and different fade styles hide (or show) that growth at different speeds. A skin fade with a sharp, high contrast line is going to look “grown out” faster than a lower, blended fade, even if the actual hair growth is identical. So instead of a single number, think of 2-4 weeks as the window, and the ears/shagginess test as the actual trigger.
